Andrew, like Kevin, was raised in Walton, New York, which is a small town in Delaware County, New York. Andrew attended college at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he focused his studies in the areas of economics and finance. After graduating from RIT, Andrew attended Albany Law School from which he graduated in 2005, and where he achieved recognition for his excellence in Land Use Planning.
Upon graduation from law school, Andrew worked as an attorney with a law firm that specialized in the prosecution and defense of personal injury actions as well as providing representation to the City of Albany on a variety of municipal law issues. Andrew eventually accepted a position with the City of Albany Corporation Counsel’s Office. While working for the City of Albany, Andrew refined his civil litigation skills. Andrew regularly appeared in State and Federal Courts on matters involving personal injury, civil rights violations, real property tax disputes and contract disputes. During his tenure with the City of Albany, Andrew also provided counsel to the Albany Community Development Agency and the Albany Development Corporation on real estate, planning and zoning issues.
In October 2011, Andrew joined the law firm of Friedman and Molinsek, P.C., which is a law firm in the Capital District that represents clients in the prosecution and defense of divorce/matrimonial actions, family court issues and personal injury matters.Andrew worked at Friedman and Molinsek, P.C. and subsequently Stephen L. Molinsek, LLC until he founded O’Brien & Wood, PLLC with his close friend and rugby teammate, Kevin O’Brien, Esq. Andrew regularly represents clients in matrimonial, family law and personal injury actions in the following counties: Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington.
Andrew’s primary focus is on achieving the best possible result for his clients. He recognizes that matrimonial, family law and personal injury matters are resolved in one of two ways: (1) settlement or (2) a decision after trial. Andrew advises his clients of the terms and obligations of all settlement proposals/agreement and also advises clients on their likelihood of success after trial.
